Consulting services

We understand that in almost every business, the application portfolio is fundamental to day-to-day operations, and to support the future aims of the corporation. Our Application Portfolio Analysis Services takes a proven, strategic approach to the inventory, analysis and transformation of corporate application portfolios. Using our framework, companies can transform their application portfolios – by activities such as upgrading, growing, retiring or consolidating those systems – with a focus on fulfilling strategic initiatives.

PHASE 0) PRE-ENGAGEMENT DIAGNOSTIC
This stage focuses on identifying high-level business goals, scoping out the opportunities, collecting data (infrastructure and applications) and setting improvement targets. During this phase, any required databases and system (interfaces) are created.

PHASE 1) DEFINE CURRENT BASELINE
This stage focuses on creating the “As Is” state (including a detailed view of the current applications and infrastructure portfolio). This phase focuses on two separate areas simultaneously: infrastructure and applications. Both areas concentrate on developing a vision and strategy, while creating a detailed implementation roadmap. It involves capturing baseline information for all the applications. We capture data to get 360 deg. view of the application. The dimensions across which data is captured are

  • Business Value dimension
  • Technology Value dimension
  • Risk dimension
  • Cost Dimension

PHASE 2) GAP ANALYSIS

In assessment stage TRADEPAQ:TRM uses sophisticated models to perform qualitative and quantitative analysis of data gathered. An evaluation for each of the applications inventoried could reveal “low-hanging fruit,” applications that clearly should be maintained or clearly should be eliminated. Just completing this much of the process alone can pay enormous dividends. However, TRADEPAQ:TRM uses sophisticated models to perform in-depth analysis. These models include

  • Portfolio Categorization framework
  • Business Value Vs Technical Value mapping model
  • Offshore-ability Analysis framework

Evaluating would assist organization to decide on actions to take for each application, including replacement, retirement, upgrade, maintenance, etc. These actions are evaluated based on the financial impact and ultimately for the budget impact.

PHASE 3) RESTRUCTURE / REALIGN
This stage would involve in developing a roadmap/ blueprint for implementing the recommendations coming out from evaluation stage. The recommendations from evaluation stage are discussed with the client and are prioritized. This will followed by a detailed plan for implementation of recommendations.
